Using Open Source in Business - Licenses and Risks.

With the increasing use of Open Source Software (OSS) in everyday life and business, the law and practice that governs the use of OSS has developed consistently. The objective of this course is to provide basic knowledge of OSS and their licensing. The course gives an overall view of the concept of OSS, their licensing patterns and their use in business and other commercial ventures.
The course comprises of four chapters. The first chapter gives an introduction to OSS and explains its meaning, nature and scope. The second chapter explains in detail, various types of licenses associated with OSS. The third chapter deals with the use of OSS in business. The last chapter provides latest developments in the field of OSS around the world.

There will be a final exam at the end of the course for the purpose of assessment. A candidate has to score a minimum of 50% to successfully complete the course and to be eligible for certificate.

Course Fee

    Students taking online degree programs don't need to take public transit to school as they need a computer and internet inside their homes to be able to earn a diploma. And for online students with programs that require internship, they can even obtain the number of hours needed by doing work in any facility in their area.
